Winter Ready

So what’s the deal… we’ve been rolling through December like it’s fall? Is winter coming? Or will Mr. Frost skip us this year?

Doubtful! It may or may not be another snowpocalypse year, but you should be ready anyways for the cold.

So, are you ready?

If you’ve smart you’ve already been strategically layering matching the fluctuating temperature. You’ve got an undershirt maybe, your button up dress shirt, and suit jacket or sport coat. Think that will do? Probably not. You will need one more layer to be winter ready. It’s the most important layer actually. The overcoat! You could be tacky and try too get that fall coat of yours over you suit jacket, but we all know you have more style than that. You need something that says classic winter. Something that says ‘Winter in New York’!

Maybe a coat that looks timeless…

maybe something with a more European look…

or maybe something a little bit different…

Think about what you are wearing underneath when you pick out your coat.

You want the coat to feel protective not restrictive. A full length overcoat should stop at your lower shins. Anything lower will get really dirty.

Fall’s Cool

What to wear right now is completely dictated by the full days weather report. In the morning it could be cold, but by afternoon it might be hot. Those leaves maybe falling, but the Fall’s weather can be all over the place. Find an outfit that speaks to Fall, but can change in an instant to keep you warm or cool.

Grab a light weight button up long sleeve plaid shirt. You can roll up those long sleeves if it gets warm.

Go with something that has muted color pallet or orange, brick red, or yellow accents.

Wear loose waist paints right now because you’ll need room to tuck in your shirt if the temperature drops. Try darker blue jeans or pants with a medium brown or darker tan color.

Then add a different texture with a lightweight leather jacket. You can throw it over your shoulder if the temperature goes up.

Now your ready for the transition from warm to just plan cool!
