Long before the song Video Killed the Radio Star announced MTV and the music video age, the Scopitone was showing 16-millimeter film through a jukebox type of machine.
The 500-pound 7 foot tall machine allowed people to selected from a small amount of videos (in some cases up to 36 films) and view them on the 17 x 22.5 inch size screen.
